At the writing of this article, we find ourselves in the midst of a drought. Our farmers need rain; rain helps produce crops; we need crops to eat and the circle of life continues. Life itself is so interdependent and no one makes it through this life without some help along the way.
The Psalmist writes in Chapter 124:8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Friends, the sooner we acknowledge this fact, the sooner we will live out the plan that God has for our life and tune into His guidance. I understand that sometimes people will let you down. It’s happened to me and it hurts. But God will never let us down because He loves us and wants us to prosper. (Jeremiah 29:11)
So on this day after Easter, I am going to start praying for rain. In this way I feel like I am asking God for help and honoring Him in believing He provides for all of our needs. Is there something you need help with and you haven’t asked God for help just yet? What is holding you back? You can also ask for Holy Spirit discernment to see if what you are asking for lines up with God’s plan for your life? We have just celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Once again God has reached across the great divide caused by our sin so that we could be reconciled to Him through the free gifts of forgiveness and grace. What are you waiting for? Seek God for help with whatever you need and He will respond with one of three answers according to our late President Jimmy Carter. He said God will an-swer with; “Yes, or No, or You’ve Got to Be Kidding!” We need to trust God and ask for help in navigating this life.
