The Gift of Thinking
I have often thanked God for the ability to think. At present, I am giving thanks for Tim Tebow and his great idea to create a prom-themed event for our special needs community called Night to Shine! It turns out that someone else started a singular event and Tim decided to take it… further. “The idea grew from Erik Dellenback (from the Tim Tebow Foundation) learning about a prom for people with special needs in Louisville and Tebow wanting to expand it globally.”
In 2025, The NTS Event was held at 821 host churches (including First Methodist Clewiston) in 50 states and 62 countries. To date, 732,000 honored guests have attended and over 1 million volunteers have answered the call to serve at this awesome event.
All because someone had an idea and saw it as an opportunity to bless others. How is the Holy Spirit leading you to create or serve the great cause of Christianity? Hebrews 13 reminds us to: (1) Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. (2) Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
When we show hospitality to others and when we love our brothers and sisters, doors open and barriers are removed for us to share the gift of God’s love. Not to mention our opportunity to invite someone to begin a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
How is God calling you to let your light shine (Matthew 5:16) for Jesus?
God loves you and so do I,
Pastor Jeff
