Everyone has a story. In building relationships with people around us, we often share part or all of our story. Now, I am going to ask you to think about and write down three main points about how YOU came to know, invite and follow Jesus Christ. 1) Know: What was your life like before you met Jesus (decisions, attitudes, etc.) 2) Invite: who was it that introduced you to or told you about Jesus (what were the circumstances); 3) Follow: and how has your life changed since you gave your life to Him and follow Him as a disciple? You have to be intentional and write these three steps down – take your time – this is a critical part of YOUR story.
Building relationships with those in your sphere of influence is a key way of sharing Christ with others. When we build a relationship with someone, we share all kinds of facts with them don’t we? What our hobbies are; what our likes and dislikes are; and the deeper our relationship grows, the more we share about the needs we have. As a Christian, we believe that everyone needs a personal relationship with Christ right? You don’t want to keep this life-saving knowledge to yourself do you?
Congratulations on completing this assignment, as you have taken the first step towards fulfilling the Great Commission Jesus gave to every Christian in Matthew 28:19. And we are moving closer to seeing the Kingdom increase: >2.6 in 2026.
