Recently I said goodbye to the students at Clewiston Christian School after teaching there, these past two years. It was quite an experience to be actively engaged in the classroom. In some ways they brought back memories of school years gone by in my own life. And in other ways I saw them coping with new challenges for a different generation.
As I thought about this I shared with them the scripture that shares, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) There is an over-arching reminder in life for us and that is, God does not change. Our relationship with Him is one thing we can count on in knowing His nature and character does not change even when the world around us does.
As we watched our granddaughter Sarah, graduate high school, I thought to myself – what will her life look like one year; five years from now? She is excited about the future that includes a personal relationship with Jesus. Mimi and I are so happy about that, because no matter what this world may throw her way, she will have a firm foundation with which to work through those challenges. But, what about those who do not know Jesus personally?
VBS at FMCC starts in about a week (June 1 thru 4th) and it is one of the biggest outreach programs our church presents every year. How are you plugged in to this event to help us share the love of Christ with children of the Glades? It’s not too late to sign up and get involved.
Please climb aboard the Illumination Station as we help our younger generations establish a firm foundation with a never-changing Jesus Christ. You’ll be glad you helped!
Have a great summer!
With Christ’s love,
Pastor Jeff
